Introduction

The Exotic Cat Society needs to gather and use certain information about individuals when they become members of the society.

This policy sets out how this personal data must be collected, handled and stored safely, to comply with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).

This policy will ensure the Exotic Cat Society:

* Protects the rights of the Membership.

* Will be honest and open about how it processes and stores individuals’ data.

* Ensures protection from the risks of data breach.

These rules apply to both electronic and hard copies of data and any other form of storage.

To comply with the law, personal information must be used fairly, stored safely and not disclosed unlawfully.

This policy applies to all data that the Exotic Cat Society holds relating to identifiable individuals, this can include:

* Names of individuals.

* Postal addresses.

* Email address.

* Telephone numbers.

This information is used to administer your society membership for the following activities:-

* Internal record keeping.

* Sending subscription notices.

* Recording any Financial transactions with the society.

* Corresponding with you in relation to newsletters, show entries and any other information with relevance to the society.

The Exotic Cat Society will retain your personal information on our society membership database for the duration of your membership and for one additional year. All electronic and paper records will then be securely destroyed.
